The blood draw is conducted prior to the health fair event and is held at each of the UCAR's main facilities: Foothills, Center Green, Mesa Lab, RAF (Jeffco), and the Wyoming Data Center. Pre-registrations are required for the blood draw and a 12-hour fast is required (water is recommended, and any required medications should continue to be taken). Diabetics should not fast. This is a full blood chemistry test including cholesterol, lipid profile, electrolytes, liver and kidney enzymes, thyroid and iron, and coronary risk ratio. An additional PSA Prostate Cancer Blood Screening (men aged 50 or older) can also be included. The standard blood chemistry screening and the PSA test are free of charge. Blood screening results can be claimed at the full day health fair event.
There are optional blood tests available this year. There is an additional cost for the optional blood tests, to be paid by the participant.
