About the Images
The UCAR Digital Image Library provides access to
unique photographs and illustrations of
atmospheric and solar phenomena, pollution,
clouds, research instruments, field projects,
landscapes, educational settings, and the
National Center for Atmospheric Research
Mesa Laboratory and surrounding sites in
Boulder, Colorado.
All images remain the property of University Corporation
for Atmospheric Research. Access to the images included in the UCAR
Digital Image Library is restricted and protected by U.S. copyright
laws.
Research, Educational, and Private Non-commercial Use
The materials on this website have been made available for use in
research, teaching, and private study. For these purposes, you may
reproduce (print, photocopy, or download) materials from this website
without prior permission, on the condition that you provide proper
attribution of the source on all copies (see Copyright) and comply
with the Terms
of Use. Although we don't require you to contact us
in advance for these purposes, we do appreciate
hearing from teachers, students, and researchers who are using our
resources in interesting ways. Please e-mail

Commercial Use
For other uses of materials from this website (i.e.
commercial uses in any product, publication,
broadcasting, or any other commercial activity) you must contact the
UCAR Communications office and agree to licensing
terms.
When you enter into the license agreement, you acquire
the right(s) to use the image only as specifically
granted in the agreement. The license agreement
does not transfer any other right, title
or interest in or to any image, including,
without limitations, any electronic or promotional right, nor the
right to make, authorize or permit any use of the particular image(s),
or digital files made from them.

Corporation for Atmospheric Research, except when the user is instructed
to credit the photographer.
Disclaimer of Liability
UCAR is not liable to the users of this
service or to its listed participants for the content, quality, performance,
or any other aspect of any information provided by the listed participants
and transmitted by this service or for any errors in the transmission
of said information. Nor is UCAR responsible to any person for any
damages arising in any manner out of the use of this service. The
users and participants acknowledge that they assume all risk and/or
responsibility for any loss or damage arising from the uses to which
this service is put.
Indemnification
The user and/or the listed participant shall indemnify
and hold harmless UCAR, its officers and employees, from and against
any claims, liabilities, losses, costs, damages, or expenses (including
attorney's fees) arising from the user's use or participation in this

Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), and UCAR Office of Programs
(UOP) do not endorse or sponsor any commercial product, service, or
activity. The user shall not use the images when such use can be construed
as an endorsement by UCAR of a product, service, or activity.
The user will hold UCAR harmless from all claims for the use of the
images, including defamatory use.
