Caution: Lowest Fares are Usually Nonrefundable!

There may be many restrictions involved when purchasing nonrefundable fares. Some of these restrictions will usually include the following:

  • Advance purchase
  • Instant purchase
  • Penalties for changing or canceling
  • Round trip travel
  • All airline tickets are nontransferable. No one else can travel on your ticket.

Many other restrictions may apply. It is best to consult your professional travel agent for complete details.

Helpful Tips for Obtaining the Lowest Airfares:

Book in advance whenever possible. Most discounted fares require advance purchase (7-day, 14-day, 21-day). Deeply discounted fares are very limited. Booking in advance can aid in the availability of those fares.

Be flexible with your travel times whenever possible. Lower fares are sometimes offered at specific flight times in some markets. Staying over a Saturday night can often save you up to 60%.

Consider alternate airports. Many passengers are traveling out of Colorado Springs airport for lower fares. Arriving in Newark airport rather than JFK airport may also achieve savings.

Consider the options our agents provide. Our agents are trained to give you alternatives for lower fares. They also can fax you a fare matrix showing you several flight and fare alternatives.

Communicate with us. Please let your agent know how flexible your plans are. For example, can you travel any time throughout the day, two hours before the requested time, one day earlier, can you stay Saturday night?

Issue the ticket. Holding a reservation without issuing the ticket does not protect you from a fare increase. Purchasing the ticket is the only way to guarantee the fare.

Did You Know?

As of first quarter 1997, the airlines have developed software designed to identify passengers that are using back to back ticketing and other ticketing tricks considered fraudulent by the airlines.

There are up to 500,000 airfare changes every day! Airline fares change constantly throughout the day. Previously, airlines only changed their fares overnight. Now they have software which allows them to change the fare AT ANY TIME.

Airline Yield Management is the process by which the airlines maximize the revenue on any aircraft by assigning different dollar values to areas of inventory on an aircraft. This is why the person seated next to you may have paid a different fare than you.

Once your ticket is issued, we continue to check your reservation for a possible fare decrease via our automated Farefinder product. There are many airline restrictions when downgrading to a lower fare. Our agents will notify you if you qualify for a lower fare.
