Composting

Composting diverts waste from landfills and turns it into a nutrient-rich soil amendment for use in gardening and agriculture.  Compost collection bins are located in UCAR cafeterias and in numerous meeting rooms at Foothills, Mesa, and Center Green campuses, and are emptied daily.  The current phase of compost collection has been completed in partnership with Event Services to facilitate zero waste meetings and events on campuses.  Staff are welcome to put compostables they generate at work in any of the collection bins.

We can ONLY accept compostable material generated by activities in UCAR/NCAR offices.  To learn more about household composting or collection options for your household food wasted, contact EcoCycle.
