UCAR is committed to working toward sustainability.  Sustainable UCAR supports the integration of best practices that benefit the environment, human well being, and organizational productivity.  Sustainable UCAR launched from the former environmental stewardship program, a volunteer effort that engaged staff in a variety of resource conservation efforts.  UCAR was an early adopter of many environmentally preferable practices that are now considered mainstream: adopting an environmental stewardship policy; recycling; providing each staff member with an EcoPass to ride public transit for free; creating a free bike loan program; and more. We’re stepping up our efforts and invite you to get involved, ask questions and offer feedback.
