The UCAR Safety and Security Committee performs annual safety inspections throughout UCAR/NCAR/UOP facilities. These inspections identify violations of life safety, fire prevention and industrial safety regulations. For example, frequently cited issues are piles of loose papers and other combustible materials, blocked emergency equipment and improper extension cord use. Eliminating these issues helps prevent injury to personnel and keeps our facilities safe for all employees and visitors. Building inspection findings and recommendations are presented to the NCAR Director, Division or Program Directors and the UCAR Management Counsel and tracked to completion.
