BUILDING SAFETY INSPECTION CRITERIA
Electrical: Power strips being used as extension cords, extension cord used a permanent wiring, space heater that do not meet safety codes, exposed electrical wires, damaged power cords, missing electrical cover plates, halogen lamps without bulb guard, power cords across the floor, and outlet expanders.
General Housekeeping: Excessive combustibles such as piles of paper, food items, excess materials, data lines across the floor, and tripping hazards.
Building Structure: Water damaged ceiling tile, missing or broken ceiling tile and missing or broken floor tile.
Blocked: Sprinkler heads, electrical panels, exits, fire extinguishers, eyewash, safety showers, hallways and aisles.
Compressed Gas: Cylinder not secure, without cap or stored with attached regulator.
Safety Equipment: No fire extinguisher, no eyewash or no safety glasses available.
Chemical: Storage of incompatible chemicals, chemicals stored in the fume hood, chemical containers properly labeled, food stored or consumed where chemicals are used, chemicals stored on high shelves, excessive chemical inventory, chemicals improperly stored or chemical spills.
Storage: Heavy items stored above head, hallway used for storage, oily rags stored in open cans.
Miscellaneous: Unguarded equipment, sticky door, broken glass at bookshelf front, grinder guard, smoking in building, vent cover removed, animal droppings, objects hanging from light fixtures.
