EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS
A quick reminder heading into the winter season that UCAR communicates emergency information (delayed openings, closures, evacuations, etc.) several ways.
1. Safety and Security Hotline 303-497-1100. All emergency
information will posted to this phone number and updated hourly.
2. Voice mail/e-mail. When appropriate, emergency information will be
distrubed to all staff via voice mail and e-mail. Directions will be
provided to links that will allow staff to electronically monitor
developing situations.
3. Media. UCAR notifies Clear Channel Communications and they in turn broadcast through their stations at a time and
frequency of their choosing. Please consult their Web site for a
listing of channels http://www.clearchannel.com/.
4. Facility Closures. UCAR makes every attempt to stay open. However, when conditions warrant, facilities may go on delayed opening
or may be closed all together. Decisions regarding closures or delayed
openings are made and communicated by 6:00 a.m. whenever feasible. Mid-day closings will be communicated on as an needed basis.
