UCAR Business Continuity Policy
UCAR is committed to ensuring the availability of its science (products, services, equipment, platforms, information and facilities) by implementing a coordinated Business Continuity Plan for critical business operations. Critical business operations include those activities whose disruption would result in:
- Significant loss of data
- Loss of revenue
- Inability to meet agreement/contractual deadlines or breach of agreement/contract
- Ability to provide important services
Individual laboratories, divisions, programs, and departments are responsible for identifying critical business operations, providing necessary information for an effective business continuity plan, conducting timely updates to their plan and implementing their specific disaster recovery activities. Safety and Site Services is responsible for coordinating a corporate-wide program, emergency response activities and disaster recovery operations.
Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
Process of developing advance arrangements and procedures that enable an organization to respond to an event in such a manner that critical business functions continue with planned levels of interruption or essential change.
