CELEBRATION – Chris and I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate Dorothy Bustamante! Dorothy has attended every DPA meeting for the last two years! Congratulations Dorothy! We appreciate all the hard work all the DPA’s do, from inventory to audit; we couldn’t do it without you! The DPA meetings are an important part of keeping communication open. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to attend.
MAY 2007 MEETING – The May 2007 meeting is currently scheduled for Thursday, the 31st, 9:30-11:00 a.m., at the Corporate Technical Training Center (CTTC) CG2. Chris has sent MM proposals for the 2007 DPA Meetings through October and the schedule is posted on the Property Web page. Please keep in mind, occasionally a location may change due to outside requests. If this occurs the meeting and Web page will be updated.
FIXED ASSETS TRAINING – We have scheduled a training session for May 8, 2007 at the Corporate Technical Training Center (CTTC) CG2 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. There are currently 12 participants. We still have room for a few more, so let Dee know if you would like to attend. We’re going to focus on the reporting capabilities in the Fixed Asset Database. Following is a description of those reports
- FXRE5K - items coded to 55@ object code, currently less than 5K (i.e. an assembled asset not yet completed)
- DI - Disposed assets
- ID - FA by ID (includes check number, PO, Batch ID, etc.)
- LP - Fixed assets assigned to selected DPA
- RP - Responsible Person report
- US - User report (includes location, serial#, cost)
- AC - Active Asset report (similar to US, but for active only)
- AR - Agreement Report (lists all assets purchased by a given contract, i.e. any 8 digit contract assigned by UCAR Sponsored Agreements)
NEW CAPITALIZATION GUIDELINES FOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS –
Effective 10/1/06 the capitalization threshold for capital improvement projects to buildings and infrastructure has been raised from $5K to $25K. The new guidelines and a project implementation matrix outlining cost classifications may be found on the Property Web page at http://www.fin.ucar.edu/property/propmanual/propmanual_sec9.html
PROPERTY MANUAL UPDATES – The following Web pages have recently been updated:
We will be doing a review of the Property Web pages, so stay tuned for further updates in April!
SCANNER DEMO – Chris provided a hands-on demonstration of the new scanners. Due to licensing issues and having to load the software onto Chris’s dedicated PC we were unable to present the demo on the ‘big screen,’ so we paired up and interactively ‘played’ with the four scanners we have purchased. Chris is ready to start the next inventory process and is excited about this new technology.
PROPERTY OFFICE SCHEDULES –
- Dee – Monday and Tuesday (April 2-3) at a National Property Management Association (NPMA) conference in Memphis TN.
- Dee – April 9-20, foot surgery. Plan on working as much as I can after recovery, but can’t drive, so I’ll be out of the office working at home.
- Dee – Vacation! April 26-May 2
- Chris – Vacation! May 11-25
