APRIL 2005 MEETING –The April 2005 meeting will be Thursday, the 28th, 9:30-11:00 A.M., at the Corporate Training Center in CG2. Chris will be sending MM proposals for the 2005 DPA Meetings and the schedule is posted on the Property Web page.
NSF PROPERTY REVIEW – Kevin Rorer, NSF property administrator arrived on March 14 to review our property control system. Kevin was extremely impressed with the overall condition of not only the electronic tracking system we have in place, but also the smooth, effortless review of each of the 35 items selected. He seemed very happy with the results of his review and will be sending a final evaluation soon. Once he does I will share those results with the DPA’s. Thanks for all your hard work in making this a successful visit.
DISPOSAL REMINDER – Please remember to include the reason for disposition in your e-mails when disposing of equipment. Is everyone on the same page with regard to dismantles? If I receive an e-mail requesting a dismantle, I assume that equipment will be used for spare parts, which is not the same as a salvage. If there is any question regarding the definition of disposal requests, please review the Property manual.
EQUIPMENT UTILIZATION – If you have equipment that has not been in use for a long period of time, and your division has no plans to use it in the future, this equipment should be evaluated with regard to disposal. Disposal does not mean you must scrap or recycle, it means you have not used the equipment for some time and do not have plans to use it in the future. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
CIP TRAINING –Training is scheduled for June 21, from 9:00am – 11:30am in the Corporate Technical Training Center (CTTC). This training is designed to familiarize individuals with three main topics of a constructed asset. 1) How to recognize when a fixed asset is a constructed asset. 2) How the application of costs is accounted for within a CIP. 3) How to accurately record the accounting for a CIP.
EMPLOYEE HOME LOAN FORMS – Chris requested feedback on any final suggestions about Employee Loan Form revisions. The revised loan form has been posted on the Property Web site. Please be sure to use the new form from this point forward.
