Advantages of policy revisions:
- Audit process of vouchers has been streamlined by the policy revisions
- Several revisions provide stronger internal control, i.e., limiting the number of individuals who can authorize their own travel provides for greater segregation of duties
- Allowing expired nonrefundable tickets to program funds provides programs more flexibility in managing their projects and budgets; a nonrefundable ticket is substantially less expensive than other alternatives
- Day of departure and return per diem rules are so much easier to interpret and apply; everyone (administration and travelers) is pleased with this revision!
