UCAR employees may further the educational mission of UCAR by participating, on a regular and formal basis, in instruction at a recognized public or private institution. Such teaching may be considered either part of the employee's duties or outside employment, as determined by the employee's Director (UCAR/UCP Program Director or NCAR Associate Director). If teaching is part of the employee's duties, the employee may retain no additional compensation. If teaching is outside employment, the terms of the Outside Employment policy and procedures apply. Employees should discuss proposed teaching or lecturing opportunities with their Division or Program Director before formalizing an agreement with the institution at which the teaching will occur.
See Teaching procedures.
