UCAR is committed to conserving natural resources and protecting the environment and demonstrates this commitment through the creation and implementation of a comprehensive program for environmental stewardship. The Safety and Site Services department collects and disposes of toxic wastes and hazardous materials. Employees are expected to participate in the Environmental Stewardship Program by purchasing energy-efficient products, recycled products, and products that have minimal impact on air quality. They are also encouraged to minimize their energy consumption, reuse materials whenever possible, recycle, and make maximum use of transportation alternatives.
See the Environmental Stewardship Program's Web site for details about recycling and the Transportation Alternatives Program. See also UCAR's policies on Health, Environment, and Safety and Acquisition of Goods and Services.
Questions or concerns about the Environmental Stewardship Program should be directed to the Vice-President for Finance and Administration.
