UCAR is committed to upholding high ethical standards in all of its scientific, technical, educational, and administrative operations. Ethical conduct is grounded in principles embracing honesty, fairness, respect for others, honoring commitments and obligations, compassion, integrity, taking responsibility for our actions, striving for excellence in performance, and complying with laws and regulations. UCAR is committed to providing high-quality research products and facilities, maintaining financial prudence and equitable business practices, treating individuals with respect, following fair and equitable employment practices, and protecting and enhancing employee health and safety.

Consistent with this commitment, UCAR expects its employees to act with integrity and to exhibit behaviors that merit public trust and confidence. Although no policy can set forth every applicable rule and cover every situation, common sense and the provisions of relevant UCAR policies should serve as guidelines to ethical conduct in carrying out UCAR's mission and obligations.

Employees should address questions about ethical conduct or report ethics concerns to those in their chain of authority and/or UCAR's Ethics Officer.
