Flood-damaged bridge (DI02636) Photo by Carlye Calvin
Description:
In June 2010 quickly melting snow caused Boulder Creek to rise to dangerous levels. A partially washed out culvert-style bridge and resulting debris was blocking the flow of water and causing water in Boulder Creek to back up. Authorities feared a surge of one to three feet could cause flooding in downtown Boulder and decided to remove the remains of the bridge.
