Document Title:
Cumulonimbus cloud (DI01268)
Description:
When a cumulus cloud becomes exceptionally dense and vertically developed with a dark base from which rain may begin to fall, it is called a cumulonimbus, or thunderstorm, cloud. Toward the cold top of the cloud are ice crystals, and swift winds at these higher altitudes can reshape the cloud into a huge flattened anvil.
