Document Title:
Cumulus at sunset (DI02510) Photo by Carlye Calvin
Description:
The setting sun lights up cumulus clouds. These cauliflower-shaped clouds result from warm, moist air rising rapidly through a cooler layer. They usually have a horizontal base and a dome-shaped upper surface and show strong contrasts of light and shadow when the sun illuminates them from the side.
