Description: This tornado near Deshler, Nebraska, was one of more than 11 that formed over a four-hour period on May 24, 2004. All of these tornadoes developed from the same supercell thunderstorm as it moved from south-central Nebraska into north-central Kansas. NCAR scientists are studying tornado formation in order to determine which storms are likely to produce tornadoes.
