Description:
When a cumulus clouds becomes exceptionally dense and vertically developed, with a dark base from which rain may begin to fall, it is called a cumulonimbus, or thunderstorm, cloud. Toward the cold top of the cloud are ice crystals and swift winds at these higher altitudes can reshape the cloud into a huge flattened anvil.
