NCAR HIGHLIGHTS
1. For NCAR, FY04 Regular NSF funding of $80,499,500
reflects the NCAR Final Program Plan with $1M Biocomplexity funds and a
reduction of $284,500 for FY2003 forward funding. Our adjusted final September target is
$80,215,000. The plan level consists of $72,329,500
base program funding and CSL funding of $8,170,000; $438,000 of the CSL funding
is designated as NSF Core funds. As
mentioned, FY 2004 forward funding in the amount of $284,500 was received from
NSF in FY 2003 and committed in a SPER for Aircraft Inspection Reserves in the
NCAR Directorate. FY03 carryover funds
consist of $10,766,868 committed and $1,494,224 uncommitted but programmed
carryover. Special NSF funds from ATM
consist of $25,925,222 in FY03 carryover. New FY04 special and deployment funds
from ATM are $20,048,872. (Reference the

2. NCAR non-NSF funding that is received
through the NSF Cooperative Agreement consists of FY03 carryover funds totaling
$4,507,729. Of the amount received through the NSF Cooperative Agreement, FY04
expenditures and commitments total $12,889,683. New funds from outside contracts received
directly by NCAR total $34,077,044.

For UCAR, FY05 NSF Funded Programs
received through the NSF Cooperative Agreement totals $3,445,089. This amount consists of $25,000 in new funds,
$2,185,751 in committed carryover from FY03 and uncommitted carryover of $1,234,338.

UCAR non-NSF funding that is received
through the NSF Cooperative Agreement totals $60,981, which is completely from FY03
uncommitted carryover. Of the amount
received through the NSF Cooperative Agreement, expenditures and commitments
total $48,372.
3.
UCAR Direct Funding totals $4,368,625,
which consists of $2,516,449 in new FY04 funds, $1,852,176 in FY03 uncommitted
carryover.
