The Cultural Conflict Between Administrative and Scientific Staff

Speakers:  Andy & Carle Churgin

What underlies cultural conflict between Administrative and Scientific staff in research organizations? What is the nature of this conflict? What is important to focus on in order to find common ground?

Andy and Carle Churgin of Chain Reaction Partners have worked with hundreds of individuals at UCAR at all levels, capacities and departments. They have experienced, firsthand, the various perspectives of scientists and administrators at many scientific institutions.  In this interactive session all the perspectives will be put on the table. We will look at the way beliefs and assumptions drive our interactions, impact communications and might be getting in the way of better relationships and results.

Join us as we visit each other’s “lands” to see what it is like to live in the other’s shoes. And, leave with a new appreciation of those with whom you work.
