Communicating Science & Technology

In recent years, leaders in industry, government, and academia have emphasized the need to better prepare all US citizens to participate in the global economy - one that requires increasing scientific and technical knowledge. This plenary discussion will focus on the unique ways that FFRDCs can contribute to meeting this need, by offering an opportunity for everyone to experience science by actually doing science. Panelists will describe internships, citizen science campaigns, and interactive exhibits. In keeping with the theme of doing science, there will be a hands-on opportunity for all Measuring Up participants as well.
