Meg McClellan
General Counsel
University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR)

Meg McClellan is the General Counsel for the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR).   As such, Meg oversees the diverse legal needs of the organization, including giving advice and counsel on complex transactions, statutory and regulatory compliance issues, human resources, ethics, insurance and risk management matters, export, and intellectual property and technology transfer.  Meg is also General Counsel and Secretary of the  UCAR Foundation, the UCAR Child Care Center, and counsels other UCAR and UCAR Foundation subsidiaries.

Prior to coming to UCAR in May 2000, Meg was a partner in a downtown Denver law firm (Slivka Robinson Waters & O’Dorisio) and specialized in intellectual property, employment and complex contract law as both a litigator and transactional attorney.  Meg has lectured on topics such as “Email and the Internet; monitoring liability and privacy issues in the workplace,” and on “Non-Competition Agreements in Colorado.”

Meg has served as a moot court judge for local and regional competitions at CU Law School, as well as the Colorado State High School moot court competition.  Meg has also served on several not-for-profit boards in the Denver metro area, including as Chair of the Jefferson County Cultural Council.  Meg currently serves as a director for Impact on Education, the non-profit organization that helps fund extra programs in the Boulder Valley Schools.  She was a member of the Leadership Boulder Class of 2001.

Meg earned her B.A. in economics in 1983 from Colorado College and her J.D. in 1990 from the University of Colorado School of Law.  Prior to attending law school, Meg was involved in the high technology industry for four years in marketing and product management.
