Dr. Mauricio Pilleux is the Chile Business Manager and Deputy North American Project Manager of the ALMA Project for the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) in Santiago, Chile. Dr. Pilleux is a Bachelor in Physics, a Mechanical Engineer and a Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from the Universidad de Chile. He has been in the ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array) project since 2003 and has led the business operations for NRAO in Chile in the multicultural environment of ALMA, which is not only the largest ground-based astronomy project on Earth, but also a melting pot of cultures, institutions, and organizational models.
