Rod Filliben

Rod Filliben is the partner in charge of KPMG's Public Sector practice in Colorado. Our Public Sector practice includes not-for-profit organizations, higher education entities, and federal, state and local governments. Mr. Filliben has over 27 years of experience serving not-for-profit organizations; federal, state and local government agencies; and colleges and universities. Rod has extensive experience managing audits of federal programs under the Single Audit Act and OMB Circular A-133, including research and development. Clients Rod has served include the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), State of Colorado, the University of Colorado, Colorado State University, Compassion International, the City and County of Denver, National Jewish Medical Center, the United States Olympic Committee, U.S. Department of Energy - Western Area Power Administration and the Department of Interior's Bureau of Land Management, Fish & Wildlife Service and Bureau of Reclamation. Mr. Filliben has served as the concurring review partner (quality control reviewing partner) for the UCAR audit for over three years and he is now the lead audit engagement partner for UCAR. Rod is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in four states and also a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM). Mr. Filliben has been a KPMG national instructor for six years and he is also a speaker at various state-wide meetings and conferences, including the Colorado Association of Government Accountants, the CFMA/Colorado Higher Education Controllers Association and UCAR’s Measuring Up Conference. Mr. Filliben is a member of the Association of Government Accountants, the Colorado Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, the Government Finance Officers Association Special Review Committee and a former Association of School Business Officials reviewer. Rod has also been a soccer and basketball coach for seven years and is on the Board of Directors of Eden Manor, a 100-unit low-income housing facility.
