MEETING SUMMARY:
FL2-Auditorium Remodel:
Eron discussed the progress on the FL2-auditorium remodel. The project has been put tentatively on hold due to some concerns expressed from others within the organization. Eron shared the current blueprints of the remodel and the MAG voiced some concerns on the design.
MAG's Questions and Considerations with the FL2-Auditorium Remodel:
- How was the FL2-auditorium remodel designed?
- What is the current status of the project?
- Is there an adverse visual impact of media equipment on a smaller stage?
- Where is the best place to locate multimedia equipment?
- Is there a way to work with the architect in designing the best possible location for multimedia?
- Is there a way to reduce the height of the stage for easier viewing?
- What are the long range plans?
Action Item:
Cheryl to bring some of these questions and considerations to Katy Schmoll.
Update On Media Equipment:
Eron discussed the status of puchasing media equipment for the conference rooms. He stated the equipment will be purchased with a system approach versus purchasing separate components. This will allow for ease of integration and upgrades. With cost constraints, the quality of this equipment will be in the lower 10-15% of what is available, however, it will allow for easy upgrades as budgets allow.
CTTC:
Cheryl discussed the appointments of John Pereira, Operation Manager; Diann Duino, Equipment Manager; and Cheryl Cristanelli, Project Coordinator for the CTTC. Cheryl will set up a CTTC alias to communicate updates to everyone involved with the project. Eron shared the current room configuration for equipment. Some questions and concerns were raised..
Questions and considerations about the CTTC:
- Is the 2nd basement of ML the best location for the CTTC?
- Concern about location including: not easy to find, proximity to restrooms, drinking fountain, parking, cafeteria, etc.
- Concern about divisional customers trying to locate center.
- Would a location at FL be more optimal for a corporate center?
- Concerns about noise with air handlers.
Action Item:
Cheryl to bring some of these questions and considerations to Katy Schmoll.
MAG Strategic Plan:
Cheryl announced the appointment of the MAG Strategic Plan Subcommittee charged with the final development of the MAG Strategic Plan. Steve Dickson will facilitate the subcommittee. Participants include, Eron Brennan and Cheryl Cristanelli with Marla Meehl, Diann Duino and Jim VanDyke serving as technical advisors. The subcommittee is open to any MAG member wishing to participate. The first meeting of the subcommittee is scheduled for Monday, June 28, 9:30-11:30a.m., FL2-1002.
