Security

CTTC machines are connected to an internal UCAR subnet. Only authorized machines, provided by F&A IT, may be connected to this subnet.

Visiting instructors who wish to connect their own equipment to the network may use the blue network cable at the front of the classroom, marked "Guest". This cable will provide connectivity to the Internet, but not to any internal UCAR subnets.

Students may connect their own laptops to the Internet using our wireless network. Students may NOT connect laptops to any of the existing cabling in the training room.

Any instructor or group that needs to connect their own PCs or laptops to the internal CTTC subnet MUST gain authorization from F&A IT before doing so. Please provide advance notice of at least one (1) week.

Failure to comply with this policy may result in denial of future access to the training center for your group.

General Use

The requesting division is responsible for the CTTC during use, including cleanliness and theft or damage of equipment.

The instructor is reponsible for ensuring that the room is left in the state in which it was found.

Food and drink are allowed in the CTTC, but students and instructors are asked to exercise caution. Drink containers with sturdy lids are preferred. The CTTC administrator and F&A management reserve the right to change this policy if it is abused.

The break room at the top of the stairs may be used by CTTC students. It includes tables and chairs, a sink and refrigerator, a telephone, and a coat rack. Please do not use any equipment or supplies marked as belonging to Education & Outreach (E&O).

If you have special ergonomic needs, please contact Bob Wiley at x8554 for assistance.
