UCAR Supervisor Certificate Program

Overview
UCAR's Supervisor Certificate Program is designed to acquaint entry-level supervisors and managers with the basic principles of supervision and to present practical tools for dealing with common projects, tasks and problems at work. The program provides information on motivation, communication, employee development, performance management, feedback, discipline, policies and procedures, legal and regulatory issues, conflict resolution, leadership, team building and other subjects with application to the work environment. |
Who Should Consider This Program
This Certificate program is designed and recommended for entry-level supervisors, or any supervisor/manager wanting to enhance their skills.
Certificate Requirements
Complete the required* sessions listed below, plus two electives from each of the four UCAR supervisor competency areas (for a total of eight [8] elective sessions). UCAR's Supervisor Competencies include: Business Knowledge, Personal Effectiveness, Communication, and Leading and Managing People. There is no time limit to complete the certificate. Required classes are offered onsite throughout each fiscal year. Previously attended classes and those taken at other institutions such as Mountain States Employers Council, colleges and universities, can be applied to the certificate program. Simply provide certificates of completion.

*REQUIRED SESSIONS:
Plus completion of at least two sessions from each of the following Elective Competency Areas**. Total of eight (8) sessions required. Sessions are offered in full-day, half-day and/or two-hour formats throughout each fiscal year.
