How Do I Register for a Class?

  • Click on the "Training & Educ" tab on the top menu bar.
  • Click on "View Course Catalog"
  • "Select a Course Type" - choose from the following list to view courses under a specific type:
    • (All Course Types) - brings up ALL courses
    • Communication
    • Computer Skills
    • Leadership Skills
    • Professional Development
    • Safety Training
    • Supervisory/Management

It's best to specify a course type to limit the view.

Please note the list of courses will appear in alphabetical order on multiple pages. Click on "Page [1] or [2] or [3], etc." to continue to the next page. If you're looking for a course whose name begins later in the alphabet, click on one of the later pages.

  • Locate the course you want.
  • Click on "Details" in the far right-side column and details about specific classes pertaining to this course will appear:
    • Start/End Dates
    • Day of the Week
    • Start/End Times
    • Facility/Location
    • Instructor
    • Maximum Enrollment
    • # Openings Available
    • Cost (if applicable)
    • Comments
    • Enroll (click to Enroll)
  • Click on "Enroll"
  • A message will appear in red that you have successfully enrolled in this class.
  • To view the classes in which you've enrolled, click on the "Back" button to view the EOD Enrollments matrix.

Which Classes am I Enrolled In?

  • Click on the "Training & Educ" tab on the top menu bar.
  • The EOD Current Enrollments matrix is on the bottom portion of the page.
  • Each class that you have enrolled in or are wait listed for are listed. The "Status" column will indicate your status for each class (enrolled, wait listed, etc.)

How Do I Cancel/Drop Myself from a Class?

  • Click on the "Training & Educ" tab on the top menu bar.
  • The EOD Current Enrollments matrix is on the bottom portion of the page.
  • Go to the far right column called "Delete". You'll see an option to "Drop" a specific class. Click on "Drop" and you'll get a message asking if you're sure you want to drop the class. If "Yes", this line will be removed from the matrix. If "Cancel", you're still in the class.
  • If you need to enroll in another class but at a different time, follow the steps in "How Do I Register for a Class?"

What if a Class I Want to Enroll In is Full?

  • When you select a class, the "Openings" column will indicate if there are any openings.
  • If there are no openings, click on "Add to Wait List" and a message on the screen will indicate that "You have been added to the class wait list"
  • Return to the Training & Educ page to view the EOD Current Enrollments matrix to see that that class has been wait-listed.

What if a Space Becomes Available in a Class?

  • When a space becomes available in a class, the next person on the wait list will be notified by email of the available space.
  • You will be instructed to access Connect to CONFIRM or CANCEL your participation in the class.
  • If you CONFIRM your attendance, you will receive an enrollment confirmation email.
  • Participants are encouraged to CONFIRM or CANCEL as quickly as possible so others from the wait list have an opportunity to participate.

What if the Class Location, Date or Time Changes?

  • All class participants will receive an email indicating the new information.

Will I be Sent a Reminder each Class?

  • Reminders will be sent 14 days and 7 days prior to each class. If you cannot attend, instructions are provided in the email to drop the class.
  • If participants cannot attend the class, they are encouraged to DROP as quickly as possible so others from the wait list have an opportunity to attend.

Can I View a Listing of all the EOD Classes I've Attended?

  • A transcript of all classes you've taken through UCAR's EOD program is available.
  • For a copy of your transcript, click on the "Training & Educ" tab then click on the "Employee Transcript" link.

What are CEU's?

  • Some EOD classes have CEU's associated with them. CEU's (Continuing Education Units) is a nationally recognized standard unit of measurement for non-academic training programs. A CEU can be awarded for every ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience that takes place under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, qualified instruction and with significant, demonstrated educational/learning outcomes. While limited, some CEU's may be applied to certification and/or degree programs based on the certification/degree criteria requirements, course applicability and approval from the qualifying institution/school/organization.
