UCAR
LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
Welcome to the UCAR Leadership
Academy web site. The
Leadership Academy is part of “Developing our Human Capital”, an
ongoing initiative of the President’s Council.
It has been designed to provide knowledge and skills for
current and/or future leaders consistent with competencies needed to
be a successful manager. Human Resources developed the Leadership Academy with
direction from the President’s Council and support from the NSF
and UCAR’s Board of Trustees.

The mission of the Leadership Academy is to increase UCAR/NCAR/UOP’s
capacity for excellence through developing our current and future
leaders.

THE
TRAINING PROGRAM Stay tuned for the new and improved UCAR Leadership Academy Program to roll out October 2008 (FY09). Details on the revised program, schedule and solitation for nominations will be released Spring 2008.

PROCESS
COMPETENCIES
The
foundation of this program is the management competencies identified
for the UCAR organization. The competency dimensions are:
Organizational Knowledge, Personal
Effectiveness, Communication, and
Leading and Managing People.

SELECTION
PROCESS
Participants
in the Academy are nominated by Division Directors, with
approximately one or two participants per program. In order to meet
the criteria for participation, nominees must:

Supervise employees or have an
influencing/impactful role.

Demonstrate the ability to perform significantly above the norm.
-
Have potential to provide large organization leadership.
-
Be
able to attend the full program.
-
Want to attend
the program.
