Summer Internships
Application Requirements
Each summer internship requires specific application materials. Please see the links to the following programs for more information.
Earth Observatory Laboratory (EOL) - Engineering Students
EOL develops and deploys observing facilities, and provides data services that our research community needs to make the observations that are essential to broadening our understanding of the world we live in.
Significant Opportunities in Atmospheric Research and Science (SOARS®) - Broad opportunities
SOARS®, is an undergraduate-to-graduate bridge program designed to broaden participation in the atmospheric and related sciences. The program is equal parts research internship, learning community, and mentoring program. SOARS® offers comprehensive financial support for summer research and graduate school for up to four years.
CISL - Summer Internships in Parallel Computational Science (SIParCS) Program - Computer Science students
The SIParCS Program offers students significant hands-on research and development opportunities in high performance computing (HPC) and related fields that use HPC for scientific discovery and modeling. Students intern in the Computational and Information Systems Laboratory (CISL), NCAR's laboratory providing supercomputing and data systems to the geosciences research community, as well as conducting research and development in computational science, data analysis, scientific visualization and numerical modeling.
