PROGRAM DIMENSIONS

Dimension: Leaders as Learners

Focus:

Leaders focus on discovery and development in the company of their peers. They will assess personal leadership style and effectiveness and gain knowledge of contemporary leadership models.

During this module participants:

  • Learn and apply contemporary leadership models for a world-class scientific/technical organization.

  • Gain an understanding of personal leadership strengths and limitations and strategies to bridge skill gaps.

  • Develop processes to align purpose and action toward desired outcomes.

  • Develop an awareness of personal choice and impact on others.

Special features:

  • A personal coach for confidential individual sessions throughout the program.

  • Personalized feedback from an individualized behavioral assessment.

  • Facilitated discussion on Leadership within the organization.

Dimension: Collaborative Leadership

Focus:

Leaders focus on strengthening their ability to inspire and engage employees, to build strong teams, and work horizontally across organizations. Learn to improve the performance of work groups by better understanding human interaction.

During this module participants:

  • Experience models, tools and techniques for forming and leading effective teams.

  • Enhance ability to align resources to achieve on time and on budget outcomes.

  • Develop skills for coaching employees to maximum satisfaction and development.

  • Design mutual purpose to move from conflict to common ground.

  • Enhance capacity to build strategic partnerships and alliances.

Special features:

  • Multi-rater (360) assessment of individual work styles and effects on team dynamics

  • Focus on proven models for coaching and conflict resolution.

  • Practice meeting management and feedback models.

Dimension: Leading an Effective Organization

Focus:

Leaders focus on building capacity to balance a powerful vision with a clear view of reality as well as understanding and creating strategies for change.

During this module participants:

  • Develop organizational strategies, aligning vision, goals and resources. Gain tools for moving from idea to action-building agreement and a plan for action.

  • Experience models, tools and techniques for working with differences, valuing diversity and building organizational alignment.

  • Deepen commitment to creating and living organization values in a complex environment.

Special features:  

  • Participation and discussion of the Strengths Deployment Inventory which is widely used throughout the organization as a team building and personal awareness tool.

  • Specially designed executive sponsorship model focusing on human capital and oversight of multiple projects.

Integrative Threads -- Throughout Program Participants:
  • Join peer groups to enhance opportunities to practice new skills

  • Participate in facilitated discussions to foster a spirit of openness, authenticity and collaboration.

  • Read and discuss recommended resources to further participant's individual learning

  • Experience, practice and apply coaching skills

  • Discuss individual action plans and commit to take learning forward.
