The NSF has renewed the five year Cooperative Agreement with UCAR to operate the National Center for Atmospheric Center through September 30, 2013. Renewal of this agreement is good news to UCAR employees and retirees. The NSF plays an important role in supporting benefits.

With the renewal of the cooperative agreement, the expiration date for Retiree Medical Insurance has been dropped. The Plans will reflect an effective date of January 1, 2009 to exclude Retirees age 65 or older from the Plans. The Plans will be updated on-line shortly. Coverage for Retirees under 65 remains in place.

UCAR reserves the right to amend or terminate this plan or any other retirement benefit at any time.

The respective Summary Plan Descriptions will be updated to reflect this change:
