OVERVIEW

The Skills/Learning Exchange is a database-driven Web application that serves as part of the UCAR Peer Mentoring Program. The system is intended as a database of UCAR employees who want to share experiences, skills, knowledge and resources with other staff members. The exchange serves as a learning tool for new staff as well as a resource for current employees, supervisors and managers.

The goal of the Skills/Learning Exchange is to serve as a vehicle for employees to:

• Foster inter-division collaboration
• Build learning networks
• Learn more about the UCAR/NCAR/UOP organization
• Enhance professional development opportunities
• Serve as mentors/coaches/learning partners

The system's major functions include:

• Search for a Learning Partner
• Enroll as a Learning Partner
• Edit/inactivate/reactivate a Learning Partner profile
• Request that a skill or category be added to the system
• Notify Learning Partners when their terms expire
