OVERVIEW

The UCAR Awards Database is a database-driven Web application that serves as a means for maintaining and reporting on awards received by all UCAR employees.

The goals of the UCAR Awards Database are to:

•  Support divisions in their efforts to increase award nominations and recipients across all of UCAR.

•  Provide a centralized mechanism for tracking historical external award information that is easy to use, consistent across the organization, and reduces ad hoc tracking and reporting efforts.

•  Use the reporting function to demonstrate national and international recognition of our employees in their field(s) of excellence.

•  Be able to respond to the NSF review panel report before the next competitive agreement period (2006).

Definitions, acronyms, and abbreviations

•  Recipient—a UCAR employee that may or may not have received an award

•  Award—an internal (UCAR) or external (non-UCAR) honor, award or prize
